Flocculation

Flocculation is the best factor of success for the process mechanical sludge thickening and dewatering. No gravity belt thickener, nor belt filter press, can obtain a high level of performance without a good flocculation (conditioning of sludge) upstream. The goal is to ensure an effective mixing of the solution of flocculating agent with sludge. Without a good flocculation, it is not possible to thicken and dewater sludge mechanically.
EMO engineers tested and installed flocculators of any type:

  • hydrodynamic,
  • vertical, 
  • horizontal.

Over the years, the EMO hydrodynamic flocculator has proven to be the most efficient and simple to adjust : flocculator with 4 injection points for the flocculating agent, which creates a mixture thanks to a system of adjustment of turbulences.
